Marquette, MI – Residents should prepare for significant snowfall as a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Marquette County. The storm is expected to bring between 6 to 12 inches of snow starting Wednesday afternoon and continuing through Thursday evening.
According to the National Weather Service, heavy lake effect snow will develop late Wednesday, with wind gusts reaching 45 mph. Travel could become hazardous, especially during Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Visibility may drop to near zero in the heaviest snowbands.
Prepare for potential power outages caused by gusty winds and falling tree branches. Keep emergency supplies such as flashlights, food, and water on hand. The five-day forecast shows continued cold conditions, with lingering snow showers into Friday.
