Gaylord, MI – A period of quiet weather across Michigan will give way to gusty winds and a mix of rain and snow Friday night, with another storm system set to impact the region Sunday into Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, southwest winds will increase Friday, gusting between 25-35 mph, with highs ranging from 40-53°F. Rain chances will increase later in the evening, transitioning to a rain-snow mix overnight as temperatures drop to the single digits and low 20s across the Upper Peninsula.

Saturday may see partial clearing, though colder-than-normal temperatures are expected, with highs struggling to rise above the mid-30s. Lingering lake-effect snow showers are possible in some areas.

Another round of rain and snow is forecast for Sunday, continuing into Monday, with temperatures trending back toward seasonal averages for late March. Highs will reach the mid-40s by early next week.

Residents should prepare for changing road conditions and reduced visibility due to mixed precipitation. Travelers are advised to check local forecasts and road conditions before heading out, especially in northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
