Marquette, MI – Residents across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula are in for a chilly and unsettled Halloween, with lake effect rain showers increasing through the day and a few evening snowflakes possible over the higher elevations, according to the US National Weather Service Marquette MI.

Showers will become more widespread across the western and central U.P. this afternoon, with temperatures hovering in the low to mid-40s. As colder air filters in tonight, snowflakes may begin to mix in, especially in elevated areas near Marquette, Houghton, and Iron Mountain.

The National Weather Service advises trick-or-treaters to dress warmly and carry rain gear, as showers are expected on and off through the evening. Overnight lows will drop into the mid-30s, and gusty winds off Lake Superior could make it feel even colder.

Rain and light snow showers are likely to continue into Saturday before tapering later in the weekend. Despite the chill, forecasters say no significant snow accumulation is expected.
