Minneapolis, MN – The Upper Midwest will remain under a spell of warm, dry weather from October 24 through October 28, 2025, according to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center’s latest 6–10 day outlook. The forecast points to above-normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation across Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas, signaling a mild, late-autumn stretch across the region.

According to NOAA’s update issued October 18, a persistent ridge of high pressure over the central United States is expected to keep much of the Upper Midwest warmer and drier than usual. Daytime highs will likely range from the upper 60s to mid-70s, roughly 10 to 20 degrees above seasonal averages, while nights stay comfortably mild.

Precipitation chances remain well below normal, with few rain events expected. The dry conditions may help farmers complete late harvest operations, though soil moisture deficits could increase in parts of Iowa and southern Minnesota, where rainfall has been limited for weeks.

Meteorologists say this setup aligns with El Niño-driven weather patterns, which typically favor extended warmth across the northern U.S. during autumn. Cooler air and increased precipitation may not return until early November, when the upper jet stream dips back toward the Plains.
