Minneapolis, Minn. – A surge of unseasonable warmth is expected to take hold across Minnesota, bringing a noticeable shift toward spring and improving travel conditions during the busy spring break window.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, Minnesota will experience temperatures running 30 to 50 percent above normal from March 24 through March 30, while precipitation trends remain near normal but limited in overall coverage. This pattern supports longer stretches of dry weather with only isolated, brief rain chances.

Across Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester, and Duluth, daytime highs are expected to reach the upper 50s to mid-60s, with mornings in the 30s and 40s. Major corridors including I-35, I-94, and U.S. 52 are expected to remain mostly dry, supporting smooth statewide travel.

Drivers should still watch for patchy morning fog and occasional damp spots in low-lying areas, but widespread hazards are not expected. The warmer temperatures will help keep road conditions favorable throughout the period.

For baseball fans across Minnesota, including those following the Twins, the opening stretch of the season should feature comfortable conditions compared to typical early-season chill, with light layers likely sufficient.

This warm pattern is expected to hold through late March, with only minor changes possible heading into early April.
