GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Residents across eastern North Dakota are waking up to another round of frosty mornings, with freezing temperatures expected to persist through early Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Grand Forks warns that frost and light freezes could impact areas from Cando to Fargo both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, threatening late-season crops and gardens.
According to the National Weather Service, low temperatures will dip into the upper 20s and low 30s in much of the region before milder air moves in midweek. After Wednesday morning, lows will rise mainly into the 40s, signaling a shift to warmer conditions by late week. Afternoon highs in the 50s Monday and Tuesday are forecast to climb into the 60s and low 70s by Friday and Saturday.
Drivers should watch for patchy frost on rural roads early each morning, while residents are encouraged to cover sensitive plants and disconnect outdoor hoses.
The frost and freeze risk will ease after Wednesday as temperatures moderate heading into the weekend.
