Marquette, MI – Skies are expected to clear across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula today before a shift to wetter weather later this week, according to the National Weather Service in Marquette.

Forecasters say clouds this morning will give way to mostly sunny skies by Wednesday afternoon as high pressure settles overhead, keeping conditions dry and mild with highs near 60°F.

By Thursday, clouds will increase across the region with rain chances returning, especially by afternoon and evening. The pattern turns windy and unsettled Friday, with gusty southerly winds and widespread showers developing, particularly across the western and central U.P.

Temperatures will remain seasonably warm, ranging from the upper 50s to low 70s through the end of the week. The NWS advises residents to plan for changing conditions, especially for outdoor events or travel late Thursday into Friday.

Conditions should gradually improve by the weekend as the front moves east, though additional light showers may linger.
