MARQUETTE, Mich. – After a stretch of crisp fall sunshine, rainy weather will return to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula late this week, according to the National Weather Service in Marquette.
Tuesday and Wednesday will feature mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-50s, offering a cool but pleasant setup across the Lake Superior shoreline. Winds remain light through Wednesday before conditions begin to change.
By Thursday afternoon, a developing system over the Midwest will bring a 50% chance of showers, increasing to near 90% Thursday night as steady rain spreads across the U.P. Periods of rain are expected to continue Friday into Saturday, with highs climbing into the mid-60s before another cool down late in the weekend.
Forecasters say no severe weather is expected, but persistent showers could lead to wet travel conditions, especially along U.S. 41 and M-28.
