Marquette, Michigan – Cold air settling over Upper Michigan tonight will drop temperatures as low as 7°F inland, with light snow showers developing near Lake Superior before calmer conditions return Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, mostly cloudy skies will persist overnight, with isolated lake-effect snow showers mainly impacting shoreline communities. Lows will range from 7 to 20 degrees, with the coldest readings expected across eastern portions of the Upper Peninsula.
Monday brings a brief break from unsettled weather, with mostly sunny skies and highs climbing between 31 and 40 degrees in cities like Marquette, Houghton, and Escanaba. The quieter pattern will be short-lived.
A fast-moving system arrives late Monday night into early Tuesday, bringing a mix of light rain and snow showers across the region. Highs Tuesday will reach between 37 and 46 degrees, with overnight lows dipping into the mid-teens to around 30 degrees.
Drivers near Lake Superior should watch for localized slick spots tonight, especially in areas prone to lake-effect snow. Additional updates may be issued as the next system approaches early Tuesday.
