Marquette, Michigan – Storms are expected to redevelop across central and eastern Upper Michigan this afternoon, with a marginal risk of severe weather bringing potential strong winds and downpours to the region. According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, scattered showers and storms could pop up between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., primarily affecting areas east of US-41 and south toward Escanaba. Any storm that forms could become briefly severe, with the greatest threat being isolated wind gusts and heavy rain. Lingering storms will taper off after sunset.
