MARQUETTE, Mich. – Rain is set to wind down across Marquette and the Lake Superior shoreline overnight as northwest winds push drier air into the Upper Peninsula. Overnight lows will hover near 59°F, with gusts up to 20 mph as clouds linger through early morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, a few lingering showers may persist into early Monday before skies begin to clear. Temperatures Monday will top out near 58°F, then gradually cool to the mid-40s overnight under mostly cloudy skies.

By Tuesday, sunshine will return with light winds and highs reaching around 60°F. The calm and clear trend continues through midweek, with highs rising into the mid-80s by Wednesday and Thursday — unusually warm for early October in the U.P. Winds will stay light, though another round of showers could move in Thursday night.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the mild, sunny stretch for outdoor work or travel before rain chances increase again late week.
