Marquette, MI – Residents across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula woke up to patchy fog Wednesday, with clouds expected to linger over central and eastern areas before conditions clear out in the west later today.
According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, an isolated shower is also possible in the eastern U.P. during the day. Highs are forecast to reach between 61 and 68 degrees Wednesday.
The weather will shift beginning Thursday as sunnier skies return across the region. The National Weather Service reports that Thursday’s temperatures will climb into the mid-70s, with conditions expected to remain clear and warm through Friday.
Looking ahead, the end of the workweek is expected to bring comfortable autumn weather, with highs ranging from the mid-60s to low 70s Friday under mostly sunny skies.
Drivers are advised to watch for reduced visibility in fog-prone areas this morning, especially along rural and low-lying routes. Travelers should also be prepared for brief damp conditions in the far east where isolated showers may develop.
The weekend forecast has not yet been released in detail, but officials note that conditions are trending toward mild and dry weather as September comes to a close.
