Marquette, MI – Residents in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula should prepare for light snow and frigid temperatures through at least Tuesday night. Wind chills are expected to drop below zero, creating hazardous conditions, especially for those traveling on major roads.
According to the National Weather Service, light snow accumulations will persist across the west-northwest wind snow belts, including Marquette, Ontonagon, and Houghton. Snow showers will be most active late Monday night into early Tuesday, with wind chills between -10°F and 0°F.
Tuesday will remain mostly sunny but cold, with highs reaching only 12°F. Overnight, temperatures will drop to -3°F, with west winds at 5 to 10 mph. Another round of snow is possible Wednesday afternoon and evening, with increased chances of accumulation.
Drivers should use caution on icy roads, particularly along US-41 and M-28. Spotters are encouraged to report snowfall impacts to the National Weather Service.
By late week, conditions will remain cold, with highs in the teens and occasional snow showers. Residents should dress in layers and monitor updates for changing conditions.
