Marquette, MI – Portions of Upper Michigan remain under winter weather advisories as lake effect snow is expected to persist through Wednesday evening and into early Thursday.
The National Weather Service reports that Gogebic, Northern Houghton, and Ontonagon counties could see up to 3 inches of additional snow by 7 p.m. EST Wednesday. Meanwhile, heavier snowfall of 2 to 5 inches is forecast for Alger, Luce, and Northern Schoolcraft counties, with the advisory extending until 1 a.m. EST Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, travel will be hazardous during morning and evening commutes, with rapidly changing visibility and slippery road conditions. Drivers are urged to slow down and remain cautious.
