Boston, MA — Mostly cloudy skies will prevail across eastern Massachusetts today, with the National Weather Service in Boston noting the potential for an isolated brief shower. Despite the chance of a passing sprinkle, the day will be largely dry for most locations as temperatures continue to run several degrees below average for mid-November.
Highs this afternoon will top out in the upper 40s across the majority of the region, with slightly cooler temperatures expected in the higher terrain of Worcester County and the Berkshires. Cities including Boston, Providence, Worcester, and Springfield will generally see highs from 47 to 50 degrees, while hilltowns and elevated communities hover closer to the low-to-mid 40s.
Cloud cover will remain fairly persistent through the day, limiting sunshine and keeping conditions on the cool side. Winds will be light, providing a relatively calm weather pattern despite the overcast skies.
Any isolated shower that develops is expected to be brief and light, with no impacts anticipated. Coastal areas, including Cape Cod and the Islands, should also remain mostly dry with temperatures holding near 48 to 51 degrees.
Tonight, skies stay mostly cloudy with lows slipping into the mid-30s to around 40 degrees, setting the stage for another seasonably cool night.
Looking ahead, mainly dry weather continues into Friday before temperatures gradually moderate heading into the weekend.
