Washington, DC – Federal safety officials are warning consumers nationwide about a product recall involving nearly 200,000 stainless steel gas connectors that could allegedly pose a fire risk inside homes.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall announced Wednesday involves about 196,800 DuraTrac stainless steel gas connectors that allegedly contain a manufacturing defect that could cause a gas leak. Officials say escaping gas could ignite and allegedly create a fire hazard. The alert is listed under CPSC Recall Number 26-343.

The recalled connectors were sold between May 2025 and November 2025 at Ace Hardware, Blakeโ€™s Inc., and Merrittโ€™s Hardware stores nationwide for about $20. The flexible gas connectors are commonly used to supply gas to appliances such as stoves, ovens, and dryers.

Officials say consumers can identify the recalled product by a yellow label displaying the brand name โ€œDuraTracโ€ along with the marking โ€œMade in Thailand.โ€ The connectors are also engraved with CSA file number 259973 on the flare nuts. Units included in the recall contain one of the following date codes: 24D, 25A, 25B, or 25C.

Federal safety officials say the connectors were imported by DuraTrac of Anaheim, California, and manufactured in Thailand.

Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled gas connectors immediately and contact the company for a full refund. Authorities say homeowners should not attempt to repair the connectors and should replace the product before continuing to operate any gas appliance connected to the line.

Officials report that no injuries or incidents have allegedly been reported in connection with the recalled products as of the recall announcement.

Consumers seeking additional information or refund instructions can contact DuraTrac customer service during weekday business hours or visit the companyโ€™s product recall webpage.
