Lake Charles, La. – Tropical activity is stirring in the far Atlantic, and while two systems are drawing attention from forecasters, their path over the next week is still being watched closely. At the same time, the Northwest Gulf is gearing up for a stretch of stormy afternoons and sticky heat.
According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, rain chances will steadily climb from Sunday into midweek, peaking Monday and Tuesday with the potential for localized downpours and lightning, especially along and south of I-10. Temperatures will hold in the low to mid-90s, with muggy nights in the mid-70s.
The National Hurricane Center reports both tropical waves have a 30% development chance over the next seven days. While their current tracks keep them far from the Gulf, forecasters stress that now is the time to stay weather-aware.
