Midlothian, IL – Police arrested a suspect after a violent altercation on Knox Avenue left two juveniles with serious stab wounds. Authorities responded around 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday after receiving reports of gunfire and a possible stabbing.
Officers arrived to find multiple people involved in a fight, according to the Midlothian Police Department. During the altercation, two juveniles were stabbed with a knife, sustaining serious to critical injuries. First responders transported the juveniles to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.
Midlothian Police detained one suspect, who is currently held at the Midlothian Police Station as detectives continue their investigation. Police did not release further information on the circumstances surrounding the fight or the identities of those involved.
Chief Delaney assured the public that the investigation is ongoing and that updates will follow. The Midlothian community remains on edge, awaiting more information on the incident and the condition of the victims.
