Dearborn, MI – Dearborn Police are investigating a report involving two armed individuals spotted in the Southend area of the city. The two suspects, seen wearing military-style and tactical clothing, were observed on a residential street on Wednesday evening.
Officers quickly responded to the scene, but police officials have stated that there is no current threat to the neighborhood or the broader community. The investigation is ongoing.
According to the Dearborn Police Department, the incident took place on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, in the evening hours. While the sight of individuals carrying rifles caused concern among residents, authorities believe the situation does not pose any further danger.
Chief Issa Shahin addressed the community’s worries, saying, “Sightings of individuals armed with assault rifles in a residential neighborhood are disturbing. We share in the community’s alarm over this incident.” He assured residents that investigators are actively collecting information.
