Aurora, IL – The Aurora Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire in a townhome complex on Watercress Drive on November 3 at 12:51 p.m. The fire, originating in the 500 block of the complex, saw a swift and comprehensive response with 26 firefighters on the scene. They arrived with four engine companies, two truck companies, three medic units, and two chief officers.

Firefighters encountered intense flames emanating from the second floor of a two-story townhome. The team initiated an aggressive transitional attack, first tackling the fire from outside before advancing inside to fully contain the blaze. They brought the situation under control and extinguished the fire within 26 minutes.

Truck crews conducted thorough searches on both floors and ventilated the roof, ensuring no fire spread to adjacent units. Fortunately, no one was home at the time, and there were no injuries among residents or firefighters. However, the damaged unit was deemed uninhabitable, and the Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents.

The cause remains under investigation.
