Twin Cities, MN – A surge of warm air is set to sweep across Minnesota this weekend, bringing unseasonably high temperatures and strong wind gusts across the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Twin Cities, wind gusts could reach 30 mph Saturday afternoon across much of southern and central Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, Marshall, Willmar, and Redwood Falls. Temperatures are forecast to climb into the upper 60s and low 70s across the region beginning Saturday and continuing through Sunday.

Wind speeds will be relatively calm Friday, with gusts remaining under 20 mph. However, by Saturday morning, southerly winds will increase, with gusts peaking between noon and 6 p.m. Highs on Saturday are expected to range from 67°F in the Twin Cities to 74°F in Marshall.

Sunday will remain warm but slightly cooler, with highs in the mid-60s and lingering wind gusts between 20–26 mph. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and exercise caution when driving high-profile vehicles.

This weekend’s conditions contrast with typical mid-April patterns, which often see highs in the 50s. Travelers and event planners should remain weather-aware and monitor updates from local officials.
