Minneapolis, Minn. – Fog lingering from overnight is expected to clear quickly this morning, giving way to sunshine and highs in the mid-60s across Minnesota. The warmup will continue through the week, with temperatures reaching the 70s by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities office, the most notable weather shift arrives Monday afternoon through Tuesday as showers and thunderstorms return to the region. Storm activity could affect evening commutes in Minneapolis–St. Paul as well as travel across southern and central Minnesota.

Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility in early morning fog Sunday, though conditions will rapidly improve. By Monday, wet roads and brief downpours could slow traffic along Interstates 35 and 94, and minor flooding in low-lying areas can’t be ruled out if heavier storms develop.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and keep devices charged in case of lightning-related outages. Outdoor events Monday evening may face delays or cancellations.

The warming pattern is expected to hold through late week, with highs remaining in the 70s across much of the state. Additional storm chances may follow beyond Tuesday, with updates expected from the National Weather Service.
