Minneapolis, Minn. – Scattered thunderstorms could rumble across the Twin Cities late Tuesday into early Wednesday, followed by a noticeable shift to cooler, fall-like weather through the rest of the week.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, isolated storms will linger overnight with lows in the 50s and 60s. By Wednesday, breezy conditions and scattered showers are expected across much of Minnesota, with highs dropping into the low to mid-60s.
Communities across the metro, including St. Paul, Bloomington and Brooklyn Park, should prepare for wet morning commutes Wednesday, with rain chances near 30 percent. Thunder chances increase Thursday, particularly across central and southern Minnesota, where highs will briefly reach the upper 60s before falling again.
Friday brings partly sunny skies but brisk winds, keeping highs closer to the upper 50s in northern counties and low 60s south. The weekend looks more settled, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s Saturday before climbing near 70 Sunday.
Drivers should remain alert during wet periods, especially on highways around the metro. The weather service says cooler, dry conditions are expected to dominate after Thursday, reducing storm risk but keeping temperatures below seasonal norms.
