Minneapolis, Minnesota – Scattered thunderstorms and showers are expected to wind down by late Wednesday afternoon across the Twin Cities and much of southern Minnesota, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures and setting the stage for a stretch of cooler, drier days.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, overcast skies and lingering rain will cap daytime highs in the mid-60s to low 70s today, roughly 10–15 degrees cooler than earlier in the week. Rain and storm activity should dissipate by early evening, with clearing skies on the horizon.
By Thursday, much of the state will enjoy sunshine and calmer conditions, with highs rebounding into the low 70s. Cities like St. Cloud, Mankato, and Rochester are all expected to see clear skies and cool overnight lows dipping into the 40s. Friday brings another dry start, but cloud cover will build by evening, and a new round of showers is likely to arrive late Friday night.
Travelers are urged to watch for wet roads and reduced visibility through early evening Wednesday. Power outages are not expected, but those commuting in areas like Interstate 94 and Highway 52 should plan for minor delays during the afternoon hours.
Additional rain chances are expected to develop by Friday night, with updates anticipated by Thursday morning.
