Minneapolis, Minn. – Scattered thunderstorms will linger across parts of Minnesota this evening before giving way to a cooler and calmer night. Drivers may still encounter wet pavement through late Saturday, but skies begin clearing overnight as winds ease.
According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, Sunday will bring a welcome break from the unsettled pattern, with sunshine and highs in the mid-60s. Temperatures begin climbing Monday, reaching the mid-70s by Tuesday and Wednesday, along with renewed chances for showers.
In the Twin Cities metro, residents can expect a pleasant Sunday for outdoor plans, though cooler morning lows may dip into the 40s. Rochester, Mankato, and St. Cloud should see similar conditions, with mostly dry skies and light winds. By early in the workweek, warming temperatures will push afternoon highs back into the mid to upper 70s, creating a more summerlike feel.
Travelers are advised to watch for patchy wet spots tonight but should find improved driving conditions by Sunday morning. Those with outdoor projects or harvest work across southern Minnesota will benefit from the dry window before periodic rain chances arrive Monday.
The National Weather Service says additional updates will be issued if new storm activity develops.
