Twin Cities, Minn. – Patchy fog may settle over parts of the Twin Cities metro overnight, reducing visibility on some roadways into early Sunday morning. Overnight lows are expected to hold between 60 and 65 degrees, with light winds keeping conditions calm.

According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, a prolonged dry stretch will continue into midweek, but periods of smoke from distant wildfires could affect air quality from Sunday into Tuesday. Residents with respiratory sensitivities are urged to limit strenuous outdoor activity during smoky periods, especially in the morning and evening hours when concentrations may be higher.

Daytime highs will hover in the low 80s through Tuesday, climbing to the mid-80s by Thursday as humidity slowly increases. Rain chances are expected to return Thursday afternoon, potentially ending the dry spell. In the meantime, drivers are advised to use caution in fog-prone areas overnight, and event-goers at area fairs should prepare for hazy skies early next week.

The National Weather Service will monitor smoke levels and issue advisories as needed through Tuesday.
