Minneapolis, MN – After a brief taste of fall, Minnesota is heading back into warmer territory. According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, temperatures will climb steadily into the upper 60s and low 70s through the end of the week, with the warmest conditions expected in the southern part of the state.

A few isolated showers could develop late Thursday night, mainly across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, but the better chance for widespread rain is expected Sunday, forecasters said.

By midweek, high temperatures are forecast between 60–70°F on Wednesday, then rising into the mid-70s by Friday and Saturday. Overnight lows will hover in the 40s to mid-50s. Sunday brings a 40% chance of rain, followed by another slight rain risk Monday as a weak system moves through the Upper Midwest.

The National Weather Service says the pattern signals a brief return to late-summer warmth before more typical autumn temperatures settle in later next week.

Residents are encouraged to plan outdoor activities earlier in the weekend to avoid possible showers by Sunday afternoon.
