St. Paul, Minn. – A stretch of fall-like weather is arriving in Minnesota and Wisconsin, with patchy frost possible tonight across northern areas and cool, damp conditions setting in for the rest of the week. Overnight lows could dip into the mid-30s in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin, while the Twin Cities and southern counties hold steady in the low to mid-40s.

According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, isolated showers are expected into early Thursday morning across southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. A stronger round of rain is likely Thursday afternoon and evening as a cold front sweeps across the region.

The chill will be most noticeable for residents in Duluth, International Falls, and Hayward, where patchy frost may form on vegetation overnight. Gardeners are urged to cover sensitive plants. In the Twin Cities, morning commuters may see damp roads before cooler air keeps highs in the low 60s through Friday.

Forecasters say cooler-than-normal temperatures will linger through the weekend, with gradual warming by Sunday into the low 70s. More scattered showers remain possible Friday and Saturday, with drier skies expected to return by early next week.
