Minneapolis, Minn. – Scattered storms will linger across Minnesota and northern Wisconsin tonight through most of Tuesday, bringing the risk of strong thunderstorms to central parts of the state. The National Weather Service says central to northeast Minnesota and northern Wisconsin are favored for the heaviest activity, though isolated strong storms could fire up around central Minnesota.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities office, showers and thunderstorms may continue into Tuesday afternoon, producing localized downpours and gusty winds. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s to near 80 Tuesday before conditions improve.
Travelers should expect wet pavement and reduced visibility during the morning and evening commutes, especially along stretches of I-94 and Highway 10 through St. Cloud and into the Twin Cities. Outdoor plans may need adjusting as storms could bring lightning and brief heavy rain. Residents are advised to monitor local alerts and move indoors if storms approach.
By Wednesday, skies turn mostly sunny with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s across the state, providing a brief stretch of calm weather. Warmer conditions are expected to hold into midweek, though additional storm chances could return later this week.
