Minneapolis, MN – A stretch of mild fall weather will give way to late-day showers and a midweek cooldown, according to the National Weather Service Twin Cities.
Forecasters say rain will begin late this afternoon in western Minnesota, spreading eastward overnight and into early Tuesday. Areas across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin will enjoy one more pleasant fall day today, with highs near 60°F under partly sunny skies before rain moves in.
Rain is likely Tuesday and early Wednesday morning, bringing around a half inch of rainfall for most locations. By Wednesday afternoon, skies will begin to clear as cooler and drier air settles in.
Highs through midweek will range from the upper 40s to mid-50s, dropping to the 30s overnight. The latter half of the week will feature partly sunny, crisp fall weather with highs near 50°F Thursday and upper 40s by Friday.
The NWS advises commuters to prepare for wet roads Tuesday morning and notes that cooler air arriving midweek will signal the first taste of early November chill across the Twin Cities region.
