Twin Cities, MN – A quiet and pleasant Sunday is expected across the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin, with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures rising into the mid-to-upper 40s. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in the Twin Cities, light winds and dry conditions will keep the day seasonably mild and comfortable for outdoor plans.
Overnight lows Sunday will fall into the 20s and lower 30s as clouds increase ahead of the next system. According to NWS, a light rain and snow mix is likely to develop Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Highs Monday will reach the low-to-upper 40s before precipitation arrives after dark.
Forecasters say the system does not appear strong, but the timing could create minor morning travel impacts on Tuesday, especially if temperatures dip near freezing in outlying areas. Early Tuesday may bring a brief period of mixed precipitation before the system turns drier and transitions to mostly cloudy skies throughout the afternoon. Highs Tuesday will reach the upper 30s to around 40 degrees.
Western Wisconsin and east-central Minnesota, including communities such as Minneapolis, St. Paul, Mankato, and Menomonie, are most likely to see the overnight mix. Accumulation is expected to remain very light, with little to no snow sticking to roads.
By Wednesday, conditions turn dry again with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 30s to mid-40s. Winds stay light as a more stable pattern sets up heading into the latter half of the week.
