Minneapolis, Minn. – Much of Minnesota will feel like fall this week as breezy winds, isolated storms, and dropping temperatures spread across the state through Saturday. Highs will stay mainly in the 50s and 60s, a noticeable shift from the late-summer warmth seen just last week.
According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, Wednesday brings scattered, isolated afternoon storms with highs ranging from the mid-50s in northern Minnesota to the mid-60s in the south. Winds will remain light but noticeable, prompting a cooler feel across open areas and lakes.
Thursday will bring the warmest stretch of the week for southwest Minnesota, where temperatures could reach 70 degrees. Rain chances return later in the day, particularly west of Mankato and Marshall. By Friday, a sharp cooldown arrives statewide. Gusty winds will push daytime highs down to near 55 degrees in the Twin Cities and as low as 50 degrees in Duluth, making it the chilliest day of the week.
Travelers and outdoor workers should prepare for wind gusts Friday that could impact high-profile vehicles on I-35 and I-94. Officials recommend carrying a light jacket, especially in the mornings.
Conditions improve Saturday with partly cloudy skies and more comfortable highs in the lower to mid-60s. Additional updates are expected if rain chances expand into the weekend.
