Minneapolis, Minnesota – Isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms could dampen parts of central and western Minnesota through Wednesday afternoon, but a stretch of summerlike weather is just ahead.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, Wednesday’s high will linger near 67°F before temperatures jump into the mid-70s Thursday and continue climbing through the weekend. Isolated rumbles of thunder remain possible later today, particularly west of Interstate 35.
By Friday, cities across southern and central Minnesota—including St. Cloud, Rochester, and the Twin Cities—will enjoy highs in the low 80s with increasing sunshine. Saturday and Sunday are expected to be even warmer, with Sunday peaking around 86°F. These highs are nearly 10 degrees above normal for late May.
Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware today and monitor for any localized downpours or lightning. Later in the week, it’s a great time to prepare outdoor spaces, hydrate, and check in on neighbors as conditions heat up.
Storm chances fade after Wednesday, with no additional rain expected through the weekend. More updates will follow if any new advisories are issued.
