Minneapolis, MN – The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities reports a cold and mostly clear start to the week, with overnight lows near 23°F and a slight chance of light snow flurries returning late Monday.

As of early Monday morning, Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport recorded 24°F with calm northwest winds around 10 mph and a wind chill of 16°F. Forecasters expect partly sunny skies Monday, with highs reaching 36°F, before a few brief snow showers may develop between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday and Wednesday will see a steady warming trend under mostly sunny skies, with highs climbing to 49°F by midweek. Winds will shift from northwest to southwest, reaching gusts up to 25 mph on Wednesday.

By late week, temperatures will continue rising, topping out in the 50s by Thursday and Friday before another chance of rain arrives over the weekend.

Drivers should watch for slick spots Monday night and early Tuesday morning, especially on untreated roads and bridges as light snow may briefly accumulate.
