Twin Cities, MN – Breezy winds and dropping temperatures will usher in a wintry pattern across Minnesota heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities.
Forecasters say Thursday will bring increasing clouds and gusty southerly winds, with little to no rain expected. Cooler air arrives Friday, setting the stage for a rain-and-snow mix Saturday, mainly across southern Minnesota. Light slushy accumulations are possible in localized areas.
Wind gusts could reach 30 to 40 mph in parts of western and southern Minnesota before easing into the weekend. By Sunday, highs will only reach the 30s, with lows dipping into the teens and 20s, marking one of the season’s coldest stretches so far.
The NWS advises travelers to monitor forecasts for potential slick spots and reduced visibility if snow develops Saturday night.
