Minneapolis, MN – A sharp weekend chill is settling across Minnesota, sending temperatures tumbling into the single digits overnight and keeping daytime highs well below average through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, Saturday will stay mostly quiet but cold, with highs ranging from the mid-teens to upper 20s statewide. Western Minnesota communities such as Alexandria and Morris will struggle to climb out of the teens, while the Twin Cities should top out near the upper 20s under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday brings another round of chilly air, along with a noticeable breeze that could make it feel even colder. Highs across central and southern Minnesota, including St. Cloud, Mankato and Rochester, will range from the low 20s to mid-20s. Wind chills may dip into the single digits at times, especially during the morning hours.

Road conditions are expected to remain dry through the weekend, but drivers should watch for slick spots during early morning hours as overnight lows fall between 5 and 15 degrees. Residents are urged to bundle up, limit prolonged outdoor exposure, and ensure pets and vulnerable neighbors have adequate warmth.

A gradual warm-up begins Monday, with highs returning to the 30s and even 40s by midweek. Additional updates will be issued if any wind chill advisories become necessary.
