Minneapolis, MN – Strong southerly winds and mild fall temperatures are in store for Minnesota to begin the week, according to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities.

Forecasters say Sunday will be windy across the region, with gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph, particularly across open areas of southern and western Minnesota. Despite the wind, temperatures will warm back into the low to mid-50s under mostly sunny skies.

The breezy pattern continues Monday, though winds will gradually ease. Afternoon highs are forecast to reach the upper 50s to near 60°F, followed by even warmer conditions Tuesday, when temperatures could climb into the mid-60s in parts of the Twin Cities metro and southern Minnesota.

No rain is expected through midweek, offering several days of dry and pleasant fall weather before cooler conditions potentially return later in the week.
