Minneapolis, MN – Residents across Minnesota will see a mix of summer heat and scattered thunderstorms this week, according to the National Weather Service Twin Cities.

The forecast calls for highs in the mid-80s Monday with isolated showers possible in eastern Minnesota. Tuesday is expected to be the hottest day of the week, with highs reaching 85–90 degrees and humid conditions.

According to the NWS, storm chances increase by midweek. Wednesday will bring afternoon showers and thunderstorms with highs between 80–85 degrees. Cooler air settles in by Thursday and Friday, when widespread scattered thunderstorms are likely. Highs will dip into the mid-70s, with overnight lows falling into the 50s.

Meteorologists say the unsettled pattern will keep skies active through the end of the workweek, with multiple rounds of showers possible across the region. Drivers should plan for slower commutes during storm periods, while outdoor events may face weather delays.

The NWS issued the forecast early Monday morning, noting that summer-like humidity will linger ahead of the storms. The wet pattern could bring relief from recent dry stretches but may also create localized flooding in areas with heavy rainfall.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and weather alerts throughout the week, especially on days with higher thunderstorm potential.
