Minneapolis, MN – The National Weather Service (NWS) Twin Cities reports that while the weekend will stay mild and sunny, a shift in weather early next week will bring rain and the potential for snow to parts of Minnesota.

According to forecasters, Sunday will be pleasant with highs in the low to upper 50s across much of the state. Clouds will build on Monday, with rain showers likely by the afternoon and evening as temperatures hover in the upper 40s to low 50s.

By Tuesday, colder air moving in from the northwest is expected to change rain over to snow, especially across the northern half of Minnesota. The Twin Cities may see light rain before a few snowflakes mix in by Tuesday evening. Breezy conditions are also expected, with highs only in the upper 30s to mid-40s.

The NWS cautions that accumulating snow is possible in northern areas and advises drivers to monitor forecasts for updates as the system develops.
