Twin Cities, MN – After a stretch of mild autumn weather, the Twin Cities area will see a noticeable change beginning overnight as cloud cover increases and rain chances return, according to the US National Weather Service Twin Cities.

Forecasters say an unsettled weather pattern will take hold from Tuesday through Thursday, bringing daily chances for rain and fluctuating temperatures. Tuesday is expected to be the coldest day of the week, with highs ranging from 50 to 60 degrees and afternoon showers likely.

By Wednesday, scattered morning showers and mostly cloudy skies will keep highs in the mid-50s to mid-60s, followed by a warmer and wetter Thursday, when temperatures rebound into the 70s with scattered showers expected.

Overnight lows throughout the stretch will range between the upper 30s and mid-50s, marking a cool and damp midweek for much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Meteorologists advise residents to keep umbrellas handy and plan for possible slower commutes during the morning hours, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday when rain is most likely.

This pattern marks a shift toward typical mid-October conditions after several mild days earlier in the month.
