Twin Cities, MN — A mix of rain, snow, and gusty winds is expected to create hazardous conditions across the Twin Cities and surrounding Minnesota communities through Sunday evening.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, wind gusts began increasing early Saturday and are forecast to peak Sunday morning through late evening, with Madison, MN expecting gusts up to 39 mph. Other cities, including Alexandria, Willmar, and St. Cloud, may see gusts ranging from 30 to 38 mph throughout the day Sunday.
Rain will begin Saturday night, then mix with light snow on Sunday. While snow accumulations will likely remain light and slushy, slick roads and reduced visibility are possible—especially during early Sunday and evening commutes.
Temperatures across the region will hover between 40 to 50 degrees through Sunday, dropping into the low 20s overnight. Sunshine and calmer weather are expected to return Monday, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 50°F.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, avoid high-profile vehicle travel during peak wind hours, and monitor local forecasts for any updates. Snow will taper off by late Sunday evening as wind speeds begin to diminish into Monday.
