Tulsa, OK – The National Weather Service in Tulsa reports that numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms will continue across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas through Saturday night.

While rain will not fall continuously everywhere, multiple rounds of showers and storms are expected, with rainfall totals ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 inches. A few locations may experience localized flooding, especially in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.

Thunderstorm chances increase this afternoon and evening, with a brief strong to severe storm possible. The primary hazard is hail up to quarter-size, though gusty winds up to 50 mph and cloud-to-ground lightning are also concerns.

Rain will taper off Sunday morning as the storm system moves east. Temperatures will stay seasonably cool, and drier air is expected to move in by late Sunday afternoon.

Residents and outdoor event planners should remain alert for changing weather conditions and move indoors if thunder is heard.
