Tulsa, OK – Residents across eastern Oklahoma are waking up to frosty conditions Thursday morning as a Frost Advisory remains in effect, with another round of cold weather expected tonight.
According to the US National Weather Service Tulsa, frost developed early Thursday between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m., mainly across northeast and east-central Oklahoma, including Tulsa, Bartlesville, Muskogee, and McAlester. Temperatures dipped into the low to mid-30s, bringing the season’s first widespread frost to many areas.
Forecasters warn that Friday morning could be even colder, with lows between 32–39°F and a light freeze possible in normally colder valleys of southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Sensitive vegetation may be at risk, and residents are urged to cover plants or bring them indoors to prevent frost damage.
The cool pattern continues into the weekend with clear skies and highs in the 50s, but overnight lows will stay chilly. Warmer, more seasonable weather is expected to return early next week.
