Above-normal temperatures and dry conditions will continue across eastern Oklahoma into New Year’s Day, providing favorable travel and celebration weather, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa.
NWS forecasts show New Year’s Eve evening temperatures in the 40s, with overnight lows dipping into the mid to upper 30s, well above freezing for most locations. Tulsa is expected to bottom out near 37 degrees, while surrounding communities including Muskogee, Bartlesville, McAlester, and Tahlequah remain in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
By New Year’s Day afternoon, temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 50s, with Tulsa near 56 degrees, Muskogee around 59, and McAlester reaching the low 60s. Dry conditions are expected to persist through Thursday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, no precipitation or winter weather hazards are expected, and road conditions along U.S. 75, U.S. 64, U.S. 69, and Interstate 44 should remain dry through the holiday period.
The mild pattern is forecast to extend into early 2026, continuing a stretch of above-normal temperatures across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas.
