Tulsa, Oklahoma – A cold front moving through the Tulsa area tonight is expected to bring colder temperatures and gusty winds, creating a chilly start to Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, the front will arrive overnight, with Monday morning temperatures starting in the single digits and teens, driven lower by increasing winds. Forecasters say wind chills will remain in the teens through the morning hours, especially around sunrise.

Gusty winds behind the front may impact early travel conditions, particularly on Interstate 44, U.S. Highway 75, U.S. 169, and the Broken Arrow Expressway, where crosswinds can affect high-profile vehicles. While no winter precipitation is expected, cold pavement and strong winds may create uncomfortable and potentially hazardous driving conditions.

The National Weather Service notes that near-normal temperatures are expected to return later this week, with low rain chances midweek, mainly south of Tulsa. Fire weather conditions may also increase at times due to dry air and wind.

Residents are encouraged to dress in warm layers, limit time outdoors during the coldest part of the morning, and secure loose objects that could be affected by gusty winds.

For commuters, students, and outdoor workers, the Monday morning chill may add extra challenges during early travel hours.

The National Weather Service emphasized that while this is not a winter storm, cold exposure and wind-driven impacts remain the primary concerns following the front.
