Tucson, Arizona – Temperatures are climbing fast across southern Arizona, with afternoon highs pushing near 90 degrees and breezy winds picking up during peak daytime hours through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Tucson, highs will range from 83 to 89 degrees from Friday through Monday, with Tucson peaking near 89 by Sunday. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 50s to around 60, offering limited overnight cooling. Sierra Vista and Nogales will stay slightly cooler, with highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s.

Afternoon winds will become a daily factor, especially between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., creating minor travel impacts on open roadways like I-10 and State Route 90. Blowing dust is not widespread but cannot be ruled out in typical prone areas.

Communities including Safford and Douglas will also see consistent warmth, with highs in the low to mid-80s and mild overnight conditions. Outdoor plans should factor in sun exposure and hydration needs during peak heat.

Conditions remain steady into early next week, with continued warmth and breezy afternoons, and additional updates possible if wind speeds increase.
