Tucson, AZ – Temperatures are climbing quickly across southeast Arizona today, with above-normal heat building by the afternoon and pushing some areas close to 90°F.

According to the National Weather Service in Tucson, most of the region will stay dry with sunshine dominating through the day, while highs rise about 3 to 8 degrees above normal. Tucson is expected to reach around 86°F, with nearby areas like Green Valley and Marana seeing similar upper-80s warmth.

Farther west, Ajo and Gila Bend are heating into the low 90s, while Phoenix climbs to around 93°F. Communities along the I-10 corridor, including Eloy and Casa Grande, will see highs in the mid to upper 80s.

The only exception to the dry pattern will be across the White Mountains, where a slight chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop through the afternoon. Areas like Safford and Clifton could see brief cloud cover or light rain.

Drivers and outdoor workers should prepare for warmer-than-average conditions during peak afternoon hours. Staying hydrated and limiting prolonged sun exposure will be important.

Dry and warm conditions will continue through midweek, with additional updates expected if storm chances expand beyond eastern Arizona.
