A developing tropical system is expected to form by Wednesday, potentially bringing heavy rain and dangerous winds to the I-95 corridor, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC). The system has a 90% chance of formation in the northwestern Caribbean and could make its presence felt in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia as early as Wednesday night.
The NHC has also reported a second tropical wave in the Atlantic with a 70% chance of developing into a storm. Local residents are urged to prepare now by reviewing their hurricane plans and stocking up on essential supplies. Potential impacts include life-threatening rip currents, rough surf, minor beach erosion, and excessive rainfall leading to localized flooding.
Authorities are warning drivers along I-95 and coastal highways to remain vigilant for possible road closures and hazardous conditions, especially during the evening hours when the worst impacts are likely to occur. The system is expected to bring stormy weather through early Friday, and residents should monitor official updates closely.
