Bahamas – Tropical Storm Oscar is moving west and could impact the Bahamas with strong winds and rough seas. As of Saturday morning, Oscar’s winds are at 40 mph, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph.

The storm is expected to pass near the Bahamas by Wednesday, with tropical storm warnings already in effect. Winds in certain areas could reach up to 50 mph by Sunday, creating hazardous conditions, especially in the northern Bahamas. Seas are expected to rise between 6 and 8 feet, making boating and beach activities dangerous.

Oscar will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms throughout the weekend, with severe weather likely lasting through Sunday night into Monday. Winds could shift directions but remain strong, particularly in areas north of the central Bahamas.

The National Weather Service predicts that conditions will start to improve by mid-week, as winds and seas gradually weaken. However, residents and visitors are urged to stay cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and monitor weather updates.

Tropical storm conditions may persist through Monday, but calmer weather is expected by Tuesday as Oscar moves further away from the islands.
