Shreveport, LA – A widespread severe weather threat is set to impact Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas beginning Tuesday night, bringing large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes through Thursday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, the first round of storms is expected late Tuesday night, primarily affecting areas along and north of I-30 in Northeast Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas. Forecasters have issued a Level 1 (Marginal Risk) alert, warning of wind gusts over 60 mph and quarter-size hail or larger.

By Wednesday, the risk level rises to Level 3 (Enhanced) for parts of Louisiana and East Texas, including Shreveport, Longview, and Texarkana. This phase of the storm system could produce very large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes beginning late Wednesday morning and lasting into the night.

On Thursday, the system pushes eastward, maintaining a Level 2 (Slight Risk) for much of the tri-state region. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall remain the primary hazards, with the potential for flooding in low-lying areas.

Residents are urged to monitor local alerts, secure outdoor objects, and review severe weather safety plans. Updated forecasts and warnings are available at weather.gov/shv.
